Jasim Husain Thabet

Jasim Husain Thabet is a seasoned professional in the energy industry, currently serving as TAQA's Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director since July 2020.
With over two decades of experience, Mr. Thabet has made significant contributions to TAQA, including spearheading the merger with Abu Dhabi Power in 2020, resulting in the establishment of one of the largest integrated utility companies in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.
His leadership at TAQA also led to the successful acquisition of Masdar, creating a global clean energy powerhouse that focused on renewable energy and green hydrogen initiatives.
Before his tenure at TAQA, he played pivotal roles as the CEO and MD of Abu Dhabi Power Corporation and CEO of the National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed), driving growth and industry transformation.
Beyond his executive roles, Mr. Thabet is actively involved in various prestigious organizations, including serving on the boards of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Etihad Aviation Group, Abu Dhabi Ports, and Masdar.
He is a graduate of Saint Martin's University in the United States, holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
