James Larsen is an accomplished leader in the renewable energy industry with a particular interest in cleantech and sustainability. A graduate of Queen's University with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, he later earned an MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship and finance from The University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business.

Mr. Larsen brings extensive experience to his current role as CEO at e-Zinc, as well as his prior positions as Director at Energy Storage Canada, Director of Business Development at MaRS Discovery District - Advanced Energy Centre, and Manager at Bain & Company. He has also lent his expertise to companies in a variety of industries, including IT, customer strategy, M&A, and commercial due diligence for private equity clients, while also volunteering as an Advisor with MaRS Cleantech in Toronto.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Larsen has been actively involved in a host of social and environmental causes throughout his career. He founded Ivey Business School's annual Social Impact Conference and has volunteered his time as a Renewable Energy Advisor with Pan American Hydro Corporation and as a Research Associate at NRC - Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation.
