Jan Bartels is an accomplished logistics and engineering professional with experience in various organizations ranging from Volkswagen AG to McKinsey & Company. Bartels holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Technische Universität Clausthal, where he studied applied methodologies of project scheduling. He also studied Industrial Engineering with a focus on production planning at the same institution. Additionally, he studied at Universitat Politècnica de València. Bartels currently serves as the SVP Customer Fulfillment in Zalando SE and previously held several positions, including VP Customer Fulfillment - Technology & Strategy, VP Product - Transactional Core Platform & Logistics, and VP Logistics Products at Zalando SE. In his previous roles, he has been responsible for the strategic direction of logistics and product lines in the organization. Before joining Zalando SE, Bartels worked as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company and as a Project Manager and Consultant at Tiba Technologieberatung GmbH.
