    Jamie Lin

    I invest in founders.

Jamie Lin is the founder of AppWorks, which is Asia's leading startup accelerator and a prominent early-stage VC in the region. AppWorks Accelerator hosts 30 AI/Blockchain/SEA startups per batch and has a vast alumni network of 395 active startups and 1,331 founders. The total annual revenues of all AppWorks startups amount to US$8.1 billion, with 17,359 jobs created and a total valuation of US$11.1 billion. As a VC, AppWorks manages US$170M and has facilitated 4 IPOs, investing in 55 companies such as Lalamove, 17 Live, Carousell, 91APP, KKday, and Shopback.

Prior to his venture into investment, Jamie was a founder for a decade. Starting in 1999, he co-founded Hotcool.com, a pioneering e-commerce platform in Taiwan. Following the post-dotcom crash, Hotcool transitioned into a successful SaaS startup called Intumit, specializing in natural language processing, AI, and chatbots. In 2006, Jamie ventured into the travel industry by co-founding Sosauce.com in New York, which later transformed into Muse Games. Subsequently, Jamie returned to Taipei to establish AppWorks, a VC founded by entrepreneurs to support fellow founders.

Jamie's early inclination towards technology is evident from his youth, as he began coding and assembling computers at the age of 10. His influential blog, MR JAMIE, has been a source of inspiration for numerous individuals in the venture community since 2009.

Apart from his involvement with AppWorks, Jamie dedicates time to giving back to the community. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Taiwan Internet and E-commerce Association (TiEA), a prominent trade organization within the digital industry in Taiwan. Additionally, Jamie holds the position of an Alternate Member at the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and engages in various other leadership roles within the community.

Jamie Lin pursued his education at both National Taiwan University, where he obtained a B.S. in Engineering with a minor in Economics, and New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he focused on MBA studies in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Management, and Finance.
