Jamie Fereday

Jamie Fereday is a well-rounded professional with a background in education and building analysis. With over 25 years of experience as a secondary school science educator, Jamie transitioned to become a certified Envelope and Building Analyst Professional with expertise in energy efficiency and home performance.

He holds a Building Performance Institute certification since May 2010, adding credibility to his work in advising homeowners on best practices and upgrades for enhanced comfort and energy conservation. Jamie is affiliated with Sol Coast Consulting and Design, where he leads the Home Performance with Energy Star program in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Jamie practices what he preaches by actively reducing his energy footprint at home. He has integrated sustainable solutions like solar electric and thermal systems to partially power his residence. Additionally, his secondary home features innovative green technologies such as a passive solar design, green roof, and radiant heating, showcasing his commitment to environmental conservation.

Educationally, Jamie studied Master of Science Education at Oregon State University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Oregon. His academic background, coupled with his hands-on experience, positions him as a knowledgeable resource in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable living.

Having retired from teaching in public schools, Jamie's focus on promoting energy efficiency aligns with his personal ethos of environmental stewardship.
