James Tusty, Owner of Sky Films Incorporated
James Tusty is an independent filmmaker, speaker, and entrepreneur who co-owns Sky Films Inc. with his wife Maureen Castle Tusty.12 He founded Mountain View Group, Ltd. in 1981 and built it into a nationally recognized communication consulting firm that served large corporations like Coca-Cola, GE, and Home Depot.1
In 2008, Tusty sold Mountain View Group and founded Sky Films Inc. with Maureen to produce inspirational documentary films.12 Their first feature film "The Singing Revolution" was compared to "Casablanca" by the New York Times and cited as one of five "maverick" films changing the independent film industry.12
Some of Tusty's other notable films include "To Breathe as One", "India Awakes", "Trailblazers: The New Zealand Story", and "Sweden: Lessons for America?"12 He has received over 75 awards in his career, including the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana, the highest level national medal given to non-residents of Estonia, for his work on "The Singing Revolution".1
Tusty holds a B.A. in Arts and M.A. in Film from Bucknell University. He currently serves as a partner in New Visions Worldwide Distribution, a syndication company distributing programming to commercial television.1
