James Rubenstein

James L. Rubenstein, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He has a distinguished educational background, having earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Stanford University in 1985, followed by a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience from Rockefeller University in 1991. He completed his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College in 1992 and underwent residency training in Internal Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center from 1992 to 1995. His fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and Neuro-Oncology was also completed at UCSF between 1992 and 1998.124

Dr. Rubenstein specializes in hematology-oncology, focusing on blood disorders and their neurologic complications. His clinical expertise includes treating patients with complex conditions that involve both hematologic and neurological elements.256 He has been a faculty member at UCSF since 1995, contributing significantly to both patient care and research in his field.34
