James (Jamie) G. Huff Jr. is an Associate Professor of Human Needs and Global Resources (HNGR) and Anthropology, as well as the Associate Director of HNGR at Wheaton College.12 He has held this position since July 2014.3

Dr. Huff received his Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from American University in Washington, DC, in 2004.1 Prior to his appointment at Wheaton College, he worked as an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Vanguard University from 2002 to 2014.1

For over a decade, Dr. Huff has conducted regular ethnographic fieldwork in El Salvador, documenting the involvement of Pentecostal churches in community-based development projects.1 As an applied anthropologist, he has collaborated with various NGOs and community-based organizations to evaluate the effectiveness of their poverty alleviation programs and initiatives to strengthen human well-being and community resiliency.1
Since 2008, Dr. Huff has worked closely with the staff of a Christian non-profit organization called ENLACE to implement evaluation studies assessing the impact of local development initiatives on the social, economic, and physical well-being of rural communities across El Salvador.1
