Jamal Oulhadj
President at ICE Futures Abu Dhabi
Jamal Oulhadj served as the President of ICE Futures Abu Dhabi (IFAD) from its inception in early 2020 until late 2022. He was instrumental in the launch of the exchange, which began trading in Murban crude oil futures on March 29, 2021. Under his leadership, the exchange aimed to position Murban crude as a key pricing benchmark for the Asian market, significantly increasing its trading volume and global participation.12
Before joining ICE, Oulhadj was the Chief Executive Officer of R.J. O'Brien (MENA) Capital Limited and held various roles in financial services and trading. His career includes extensive experience in energy markets, contributing to his strategic vision for IFAD.14
Oulhadj's tenure at IFAD was marked by significant milestones, including the establishment of partnerships with major energy trading firms, which helped facilitate a robust trading environment for Murban futures. His efforts were recognized as pivotal in transforming how Murban crude is traded globally.23
In October 2022, Oulhadj left his role at ICE Futures Abu Dhabi and was succeeded by Gary King, a former chief executive of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange.1
