Jacob Jin

Jacob Jin is the Founder and CEO of Austin Elements Inc., a company focused on sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling based in Houston, Texas.12 He has held this position since February 2021, where he leads technology commercialization, business development, fundraising, and daily operations.1 Austin Elements aims to build a green, carbon-negative lithium-ion battery recycling facility with a significant processing capacity in Texas.1

Before founding Austin Elements, Jacob Jin served as the Chairman and CEO of ULTRecovery Corporation from March 2017 to July 2021. During his tenure, he focused on supporting R&D and commercialization efforts in microbial enhanced oil recovery technology.1 His previous roles also include being a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Utah and a Petroleum Engineer at BP.1

Jacob Jin holds a Ph.D. in Hydraulic Fracturing from the University of Oklahoma.12 His interests lie in alternative and transition energy, technology commercialization, and efficiency.1
