Jack Mcbride

Jack McBride is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Contec, Inc., a company specializing in manufacturing cleaning products, particularly for cleanroom environments and healthcare settings. He co-founded Contec in 1988 after working at Milliken & Company for six years. Under his leadership, Contec has grown significantly, becoming a global leader in critical cleaning products for various industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.12

Education and Awards

McBride holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University (1978) and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1980). His contributions to business and community service have been recognized with several awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1998 and induction into the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame in 2022.13

Community Involvement

In addition to his role at Contec, McBride is actively involved in community service. He has served on the board of the Mary Black Foundation and is currently involved with South Carolina First Steps, an organization focused on early childhood development.1

Jack McBride resides in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with his wife Stacy and their four children: John, Harry, Sally, and Kate.1
