J. Carl Ganter is a prominent figure recognized for his significant contributions to freshwater research, conservation, and journalism. He is a Fellow at The Explorers Club, an honor he received in 2023, acknowledging his work in understanding and conserving the world's freshwater resources.14 Ganter is the co-founder and director of Circle of Blue, an internationally recognized organization that focuses on frontline reporting and research on water resource issues and the water-food-energy-climate nexus.2
He also co-founded and serves as the CEO of Vector Center, which uses AI technology to provide insights into global water security.14 Ganter has been involved with the World Economic Forum, serving as a past vice-chairman of the Global Agenda Council on Water Security and as a member of the Global Futures Council on the Environment and Natural Resource Security.2
