Irene Tang, known by the pronouns she/they, is a well-recognized Director at StartOut, a prominent national nonprofit dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship. As Director, Irene spearheads research efforts to understand the impact of queer entrepreneurs on the U.S. economy. Irene has shared insights on LGBTQ entrepreneurship at prestigious institutions like the US Census Bureau and the Department of Commerce, along with various organizations and foundations. Prior to her role at StartOut, Irene amassed invaluable experience managing programs at Google and CBS Interactive. Additionally, Irene acts as an advisor to the nonprofit initiative Nice Queer Pals, fostering a welcoming environment for the LGBTQ+ community through sports and outdoor activities. Notably, Irene holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Psychology from the University of California - Berkeley, complemented by a Product Management certification from the esteemed Haas School of Business.
