Ian Thorpe
Product Manager and Award-Winning Film Director
Ian Thorpe boasts over 25 years of experience in statistical capacity building, evaluation and monitoring, intranet and web design, communication planning and operations, UN coordination, information and knowledge management, and facilitation. His vast expertise has been developed while working with the UN, EU, and British Government. Ian is a Master of Science from the Department of Sociology, London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Science from King’s College London.
Currently, Ian is the Chief of Learning and Knowledge Exchange at UNICEF, where he leads a team responsible for developing and implementing an organization-wide approach to learning and knowledge exchange. He has also been designated as the UNICEF HQ focal point for South-South Cooperation. Under his guidance, UNICEF is fostering a culture and practice of knowledge sharing and use, which helps to drive organizational growth and progress. With his knowledge of information management tools and techniques, he is ensuring the effective communication, transfer, and dissemination of knowledge within the organization.
