Ian Metcalfe

Ian Metcalfe is a prominent figure in the publishing industry, with an impressive career spanning several decades. He is currently the Chairman of Hodder Faith, where he is responsible for developing relationships with key authors and ensuring the NIV Bible remains the UK's leading translation. Ian has extensive experience in Bibles and Christian books publishing, with proficiency in reference, music, and liturgical areas.

Ian is also the Director and co-owner of R.L. Allan & Son Publishers, a renowned company that produces some of the best leather Bibles globally and distributes them to individuals worldwide. Additionally, he launched the initial eBooks list and iPhone apps as a digital publisher at Hodder & Stoughton, where he was actively involved in IT/digital projects such as introducing the Cognos sales reporting system.

Ian holds a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Magdalene College at the University of Cambridge. His professional experience includes roles such as Director of Publishing at Hodder & Stoughton, Managing Editor/Editorial Director, Collins Bibles, Music, and Liturgical at HarperCollins, as well as editor and production controller roles at HarperCollins.
