Hugh Chappell, a widely recognized and seasoned business personality in the technology industry with over 40 years of experience. Chappell started his career back in 1976 and worked with Apple in the UK from 1979, in the early days of the personal computer industry. He is best known for establishing Taxan (Europe) Ltd in 1985, where he remained for the next 18 years, managing a business with an annual turnover of more than £50 million, selling over 5 million displays and graphics adaptors.
Chappell realized his ultimate goal of owning and managing his own company with the establishment of TrustedReviews.com in 2003, with which he acquired bit-tech.net in 2005. Both of the companies were sold later, TrustedReviews.com in 2007 to Time Warner/IPC Media, and bit-tech.net in 2008 to Dennis Publishing.
Apart from working with startups and established firms, Chappell is also serving as a non-executive director and a shareholder in LADbible Group. Previously, he held advisory or investment positions in companies, including VASHI, Centtrip, MyFirstUK, Parkopedia, Lovestruck.com, Markco Media, Time Out Group, and others. Additionally, he served on the board of directors of E2Exchange and was a former Executive Chairman at CloudShift Group.
Chappell holds degrees in Business Studies from Harrow College of Technology & Art and Harrow County Grammar School.
