Her educational background is extensive, having pursued a B.A. in Communication, Speech & Drama from Spelman College, post-graduate studies in Performing Arts/Musical Theatre at the University of Southern California, MFA-Pending in Theory & Criticism/Theatre from the University of Houston, and studies in Radio and Television, Mass Communication & English at Howard University and the University of Southern California.
Helena-Joyce Wright has been actively involved in various organizations throughout her career, including serving as the Producer, Creator, Writer, and Star of THE DIVA MOM series. She has also held roles as the Founder, Creative Director & Artistic Director at Works In Progress Productions, LLC, a Performer at Symphony Space, Mama J (Gladys) at AWKWARD BLACK GIRL, Musical Theatre/Advanced Acting Masters Class Instructor at Alliance Theatre, and Artistic Director at Oakland Ensemble Theatre.
