Helen Chapman

Helen Chapman is a dynamic community volunteer and collaborator with a focus on housing and environment. With a degree in Merchandizing from FIDM, Helen is an organized and dedicated team player. Her passion for community service has led her to work with several organizations throughout her career. She is currently the Director at Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority and has previously served as Secretary for the Abraham Lincoln High School Foundation, as well as the Santa Clara County Democratic Party. Before that, Helen was a Policy and Legislative Advisor for the City of San José, where she was a key player in the development of policies that shaped the city's future. Helen's leadership skills have been honed through various roles, including President of the Silicon Valley Democratic Club, Director of Events for Shasta Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association, and Vice President of Programs for San Jose Parks Foundation. She has also served on the board of Our City Forest and as the Past Chair of Parks and Recreation Commission for the City of San Jose. With her expertise in housing and the environment, Helen has been an invaluable resource for the Committee for Green Foothills and San Jose Unified School District.
