Hanwei Lin

Hanwei Lin is the Managing Director and Head of Singapore Coverage for Corporate Finance at OCBC Bank.2 He previously made headlines in 2019 for donating part of his liver to a stranger, following in the footsteps of his brother who had donated a kidney to a stranger seven years earlier.1

At the time of his organ donation, Hanwei was 35 years old and working as a financial services director.1 He made the decision to donate part of his liver to Eddie Tan, a 59-year-old man suffering from acute Hepatitis B causing liver failure.1 The donation process was expedited due to the urgency of Mr. Tan's condition, with only six days between the initial call for help and the transplant surgery.1

Hanwei's act of kindness was influenced by his family, particularly his brother Dilun and their mother, Madam Serene Neo. The brothers credit their mother for instilling in them the values of kindness and generosity.1
