Hanna Tessema is a dedicated public health practitioner with a wealth of experience in various critical areas such as HIV prevention, maternal & child health, healthy pregnancy, and family planning. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health with a focus on Health Behavior at the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, Hanna holds a Global Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology from New York University and a Masters in Social Policy & Evaluation within Community & Social Systems from the University of Michigan. Hanna currently serves as the Director of Policy & Advocacy at ACRIA, where she manages citywide, statewide, and national programs on HIV prevention, care, and treatment. With a background in working on maternal and child health issues as well as research on global public health challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa, Hanna has a broad skill set that includes program management, capacity building, curriculum development, and strategic planning. Hanna's interests also extend to qualitative research, evaluation, and coaching, making her a well-rounded professional in the field of public health.
