Greg Ussher

Dr. Greg Ussher is the CEO of the METRO Charity, a key organization in London dedicated to providing various services related to sexual orientation, gender identity, HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health.

With a decade of service at METRO Charity, Greg oversees a team of 75 staff members, coordinates the efforts of 70 volunteers, and manages a staggering 75,000 occasions of service each year.

Apart from his leadership role at METRO Charity, Greg Ussher holds several significant positions that demonstrate his commitment to public service and healthcare advocacy.

His involvement as a Lay Rep in the Greenwich Clinical Commissioning Group, Chair of the National LGBT Consortium, Chair of Outhouse East in Essex, Chair of the Kent/Medway LGBT Forum, and Chair of the Greenwich Charitable Trust showcases his diverse interests and active participation in various community initiatives.

Furthermore, Greg's association as Chair of the South East London Primary Care Joint Committee highlights his involvement in promoting primary healthcare services in the region.

Greg's extensive academic background is marked by his Honorary Fellowship at the University of Greenwich and his recognition as a Churchill Fellow.

As a registered SOGI Expert with the Council of Europe, Greg Ussher possesses specialized knowledge and expertise in sexual orientation and gender identity matters.

His academic pursuits include a PhD focusing on the prevention, treatment, and epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections, which he obtained from the University of Sydney.

Originally from Margate, Kent, Greg has been an active member of the community for the past nine years, contributing to various local and national efforts.

Greg's educational journey includes a Master of Arts in Australian History with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval History, English, and Latin from distinguished institutions such as Sydney University and the Australian National University.
