Giorgio Bodo is a seasoned economist with a rich background in various industries including finance, banking, and energy sectors.
Starting his career in 1979 at the Research Department of the Bank of Italy, Bodo focused on labor economics, macroeconomic policy, and energy issues related to the Italian Economy. He played a key role in creating a new econometric model and shaping energy market liberalization policies.
Transitioning to Fiat in 1990, he served as Chief Economist and Finance Director, overseeing restructuring and the issuance of bonds to diversify funding sources. Bodo's role expanded to General Manager of Meliorbanca, where he successfully listed the bank on the Milan Stock Exchange and tripled its asset size.
Joining Italcementi in 2004 as CFO, Bodo led multiple acquisitions across the globe, strategically expanding the company's presence in Egypt, China, India, Kuwait, USA, KSA, and Syria. Additionally, he managed significant divestitures, such as the sale of Turkish assets.
In 2008, Bodo took on the challenge of developing Asec Cement, scaling its operations to multiple countries in the MENA region and achieving substantial revenue growth. Subsequently, he served as Chief Transformation Officer at Masdar Building Materials, further demonstrating his strategic leadership and business acumen.
Bodo holds a Laurea in Economics from the University of Rome, a Master of Science in Economics from the University of York, and has excelled in classical studies at Liceo Tacito.
Currently, he serves as a Strategic Business Consultant, leveraging his extensive experience to provide valuable insights and guidance to organizations.
