Gilly Lane is the Head Men's Squash Coach at the University of Pennsylvania, a position he has held since April 2016. He has a substantial coaching background, having previously served as the Associate Head Coach and Assistant Coach for both men's and women's squash teams at Penn, starting in July 2013. His coaching career is marked by significant achievements, including leading the team to win the 2024 National Championship and capturing Ivy League titles in 2022 and 2024. He was also recognized as the Ivy League Coach of the Year in 2022.1
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Lane is a co-owner of Penn Squash Camp LLC, which provides coaching for young squash players aged 11-18. He has served as the US National Team Coach and was involved with the US National Academy, where he mentored top squash players. His experience includes coaching at international competitions such as the Pan American Games, where the US team won a bronze medal in 2015.1
Lane holds a Bachelor of Arts in American History from the University of Pennsylvania (2007) and a Master's degree in Organizational Dynamics, Management and Leadership from the same institution (2020).1 His commitment to developing future squash talent in the United States is evident through his extensive coaching experience and leadership roles within the sport.
