Bob Callahan
Men's Squash coach at Princeton University
Bob Callahan was a legendary men's squash coach at Princeton University. He graduated from Princeton in 1977 with a BA in economics.3 As an undergraduate, Callahan played on three national title teams and captained the Tigers to an undefeated season in 1976-77.2
After working for IBM for four years, Callahan returned to Princeton as the men's squash coach in 1981.4 During his 32-year coaching career, he led Princeton to:
Callahan coached 10 individual national champions, including Yasser El Halaby, who won four consecutive titles from 2003 to 2006.2 He was inducted into the U.S. Squash Hall of Fame in 2012.4
In addition to coaching, Callahan founded the nation's first major squash camp in 1982.1 He retired from coaching in 2013.6 Sadly, Bob Callahan passed away on January 27, 2015, at the age of 59, after a three-year battle with brain cancer.45
