Dr. Gil Keinan

Gil Keinan is a seasoned Investment and Asset Management leader with a 25-year proven track record in delivering impactful results.

He is the founder of Local Equity, an organization dedicated to economic development in distressed communities, specializing in various financing solutions such as infrastructure projects, housing developments, a food incubator, medical facilities, and hotels.

Additionally, Gil co-founded H - Obsequio Group, a consulting firm focusing on hotel investment and asset management. His responsibilities at the firm include overseeing lender compliance by conducting monthly financial reviews, as well as providing asset management services to various owners.

Throughout his career, Gil has effectively managed approximately $2 billion in assets under management and handled transactions totaling $800 million in the private equity sector. He has played a crucial role in the growth of multiple firms within the tourism industry and has a remarkable journey from being a mini bar attendant to a prominent figure in hotel investments.

Currently a doctoral candidate conducting research on the impact of hotel operators’ scale on transaction market value, Gil possesses a diverse educational background. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco School of Management, a Master Certificate in E-Hospitality Management from Cornell University, and a BSc in Hotel and Catering Management from the University of Surrey.

With a focus on asset management, hotel repositioning, capital markets, HOA structures, renovations, branding, management, and Opportunity Zone investing, Gil Keinan is a versatile professional in the hospitality industry.

Currently serving as the Managing Director at Local Equity, Gil has previously held key positions such as Principal at HObsequio Group, Opportunity Zone Development- Executive Fellow at FUSE Corps, and Vice President roles at CIM Group, L.P. and ICE Portal. He also has a strong background in various hotel management roles at prestigious establishments like Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
