Dr. Gijs JD van Acker, MD, PhD, is a distinguished Senior Consultant and the Head of the Colorectal Cancer Unit with a strong background in surgical oncology and academic research.
Dr. van Acker pursued his education at Universiteit van Amsterdam, obtaining degrees in Surgical Resident, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and Doctor of Medicine (MD). He further honed his skills through studies at Harvard University and Theresia Lyceum, Tilburg.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Dr. van Acker has held key positions in various prestigious organizations. He served as a Consultant Surgeon at HMC (Haaglanden Medisch Centrum) and as the Director of the surgical training program at the same institution.
