Gerard Wood, Senior Consultant at Deloitte

Gerard Wood is a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Australia, having joined the firm in November 2021 when Deloitte acquired his previous company, Bluefield Asset Management Specialists Pty Ltd.123

Wood founded Bluefield in 2010, which provided advisory services covering the full life cycle of mining assets, helping clients increase equipment availability and reliability, reduce costs, and manage critical asset risks.13 Under Wood's leadership, Bluefield grew to around 100 staff across Australia.13

In late 2020, Wood decided to look for a strategic partner to help Bluefield expand its service offering and move up the value chain.3 After an extensive search process, Deloitte emerged as the ideal acquirer, as it wished to expand its capabilities in asset management and maintenance consultancy services.13

As part of the acquisition, Wood, along with two other senior Bluefield executives, became Deloitte Consulting partners.23 Wood brought over 90 years of local and international asset management experience to the firm.2

At Deloitte, Wood continues to focus on asset management and performance, leveraging his deep industry expertise to deliver solutions that enable clients to increase capital efficiency and deliver long-term value from their assets.2
