Freda Deskin
Dr. Freda Deskin is an accomplished educator with a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma. She also holds certifications in Strategic Management from Harvard University and International Finance from Oklahoma City University. Dr. Deskin has an impressive background in education, having worked as a teacher in various public schools across Oklahoma, including Pauls Valley Public Schools, Whitebead Dependent Schools, Lexington Public Schools, and Oklahoma City Public Schools. She has also held higher education positions, such as Faculty at the University of Oklahoma, Dean at Oklahoma City University, and Coordinator of Special Projects at the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
Dr. Deskin's passion for education led her to found ASTEC Public Schools, a charter school with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. Before that, she served as Principal/Superintendent for ASTEC Charter Schools. Her dedication and innovative approach to education have earned her numerous accolades, including being nominated for the Brock International Prize in Education in 2012.
