Fran O'Neill
Program Coordinator at New York Studio School
Fran O'Neill is an Australian-American artist and educator who currently holds the position of Program Coordinator at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture.3 She was born in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia, and now lives and works between Australia and Brooklyn, New York.2
O'Neill has a strong educational background in art, having earned her MFA from Brooklyn College in 2012 and a Certificate from the New York Studio School in 2001.5 Her role at the New York Studio School has evolved over time, with previous positions including Exhibitions and Alumni Coordinator and Gallery Coordinator.
As an artist, O'Neill is active in the contemporary art scene. She recently had a solo exhibition titled "A Certain Kind of Light" at Sears Peyton Gallery in New York, NY, which ran from March 7 to April 6, 2024.1 Her work often explores abstraction, as evidenced by her teaching of a Drawing Marathon course titled "Beyond the Image and into Abstraction" at the New York Studio School.4
