Fernando Reátegui

Fernando Reátegui is an accomplished data scientist with a vast range of industrial and academic experience. Dr. Reátegui holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering, with a specialism in Information Theory, from the University of Surrey, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar. His academic background honed his skills in probability theory, information and communication theory, and machine learning.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Reátegui has worked in a range of challenging environments, including software development at Siemens, as a technical sales engineer at the same firm, and as an International Support Services team member at Metaswitch Networks. From there, he moved into RF Engineering at Lucent Technologies and senior wireless engineering with Huawei Technologies. He has also held positions as PhD Student at the Institute for Communication Systems, assistant professor at the University of Information Science, and data scientist at Atten2 Advanced Monitoring Technologies.

Most recently, Dr. Reátegui served as senior data scientist at RS Components, where he developed models for predictive maintenance using frameworks such as TensorFlow and Keras. Additionally, he worked on projects for natural language processing, computer vision, and AI applications in medicine, frequently honing his skills through Coursera online specializations. Dr. Reátegui is presently an independent scientist with a drive to continue applying his extensive experience to new challenges.
