Sarah Tavel, a Harvard cum laude graduate with a degree in philosophy, has excelled in the venture capital industry for over a decade. From consulting at Kerdan Group to founding a general contracting business, Tavel has always been committed to finding creative solutions to address any challenge. She spent six years at Bessemer Venture Partners, where she invested in a wide range of businesses, from e-commerce companies like Quidsi (Acquired by Amazon) to software-as-a-service companies like Mindbody Software (IPO) and Convertro (Acquired by AOL). Tavel then joined Pinterest in 2012 as their first product manager for search, recommendations, machine vision, and pin quality. Here, she launched Pinterest internationally and closed their Series C financing. Eventually, she joined Greylock Partners as a general partner and co-led investments in Sonder and Gixo. Today, she is a general partner at Benchmark, where she invests in consumer businesses, SaaS, and the future of work. Tavel has also served as the captain of the women's rugby team during her time at Harvard, indicating her passion for leadership and team-building.
