RJ Pittman is a seasoned executive who has made a name for himself in big tech, helping to build transformational products and leading new initiatives in commerce, retail, consumer search, and payments for companies such as eBay, Apple, and Google. With two decades of experience building internet software companies to accelerate the evolution of commerce-enabled websites, Pittman has raised over $100M in venture capital and led e-business transformations at large multi-billion dollar corporations, such as McKesson and Interface Global.

As the Chairman and CEO of Matterport, Pittman is currently at the forefront of the virtual and augmented reality market, leading the company's mission to create true-to-life 3D digital twins of real-world spaces. Before Matterport, Pittman served on the board of Jyve Corporation and invested in Ember Technologies, Inc.

Pittman's educational background includes studying MS, Engineering-Economic Systems, at Stanford University and studying BSCE, Computer Engineering, at the University of Michigan.

In addition to his leadership positions at major corporations, Pittman's entrepreneurial spirit has led him to co-found and serve as CEO of Groxis, Inc., an advanced search engine technology company that created the industry’s first graphical information interface. He also played a prominent role in founding FLOR, the innovative online modular carpet tile business for consumers.

As a hands-on executive, product leader, and entrepreneur, Pittman has a breadth of experience in managing and leading teams in executive management, operational leadership, product and engineering management and development, marketing, brand, and design leadership, as well as venture capital investing, and active board membership.
