Evan Kaplan

Evan Kaplan is a successful entrepreneur and technology leader with almost 20 years of experience in the CEO role. He has led startups from his own garage to Nasdaq listed companies, generating almost $200m in annual revenue. Kaplan's expertise spans from leading companies to developing cloud software platforms to restructuring businesses.

Kaplan's most recent position was as the CEO of iPass Inc., the leading provider of Global Wi-Fi access for enterprises, telecommunications, and service providers. Under his leadership, iPass transformed from a legacy dial-up provider to the Global Wi-Fi access leader with a network footprint of 18 million locations worldwide. Kaplan is also known for leading Aventail Corporation's development of the first commercial implementation of SSL based Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN) and the industry's first Managed Extranet service.

Kaplan has earned several awards for his industry leadership, including being named by Network World as "One of the 50 Most Powerful People in Networking" and receiving Ernst & Young's "Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year." He is currently a board member and Finance Chair of One Heart Worldwide, an active advisor to entrepreneurs and early stage companies, and a recognized visionary in the networking and security industry.

Kaplan holds a BS in Environmental Science from Western Washington University and an MBA from the University of Washington. He is also an avid skier, climber, and father of two boys.
