Evan Gallagher

Evan Gallagher is a dedicated PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, conducting cutting-edge research on neuroimaging for neurological disorders under the guidance of Dr. Robert Mach.

With a keen interest in using positron emission tomography (PET) for Parkinson's disease, Evan's work focuses on evaluating the potential of [18F]ROStrace as a biomarker for the disease.

Educationally, Evan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, with prior studies in Neuroscience at Middlebury College and high honors from The Rivers School.

His professional journey includes roles such as a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Trainee at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and a Children's Ski Instructor at Telluride Ski & Golf, showcasing his diverse skill set and interests beyond academia.

Passionate about teaching, Evan has also served as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant at Middlebury College and as a Karate Instructor at Rocky DiRicco's Kempo Karate.

Beyond academics, Evan finds joy in activities like basketball, tennis, hiking, skiing, and graphic design, although Boston sports tend to amp up his stress levels.
