Eugene Obeng is a passionate young career researcher specializing in biomolecular engineering and chemical biology.
His research experience includes work on enzyme development for saccharification of lignocellulosic biomass and food waste valorization.
Currently, Eugene is focused on developing engineered bifunctional nanobodies for sensing, bioimaging, and therapeutic applications.
His educational background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering (transferred to Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute) from Monash University, an MS in Biotechnology from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and a BSc. Eugene has been affiliated with several prestigious organizations including Monash University, where he served as a doctoral student, exams supervisor, and sessional teaching associate.
He has also been involved in various capacities at Universiti Malaysia Sabah and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
Eugene Obeng's diverse background includes experiences as a Graduate Student Research Assistant in biotechnology, a research assistant in environmental management, a teaching and research assistant in chemical engineering, and a quality assurance lab technician at The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana.
