Dr. Esra Cavusoglu, PhD, CASAC, CAC, is a highly accomplished professional in the field of addiction treatment and rehabilitation, with a strong focus on international development and training.
She currently holds the position of senior advisor at the Oya Bahadir Yuksel Rehabilitation Center in Gaziantep, Turkey, where she spearheaded the creation and implementation of the Turkey Model of Rehabilitation, setting the standard for the country.
Having previously served as the Vice President of Operations at the Gaziantep Center, Dr. Cavusoglu has extensive experience collaborating with key government and health officials in Turkey.
She has been part of a medical team that traveled around the world to help establish residential treatment centers in countries like Malaysia, Jordan, and Canada.
With a diverse educational background, Dr. Cavusoglu holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami, an M.S. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College, and completed her undergraduate studies in Behavioral Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology at Alvernia University.
In addition to her work in Turkey, Dr. Cavusoglu is actively involved in various international organizations and initiatives. She serves on the Clinical Advisory Board of Yale University School of Medicine and as an Advisor for International Development at the Yale Program on Supervision.
As a certified addiction counselor in the State of New York, Dr. Cavusoglu also holds roles as Chair of the Middle East Certification Board, a member of the Asia Pacific Certification Board, and a member of the A4M functional medicine fellowship.
Her professional journey includes internships at the Caron Treatment Center in Pennsylvania and St. Luke's-Roosevelt hospital's Addiction Institute of New York, where she honed her skills in individual and group counseling sessions.
Dr. Cavusoglu's contributions to the field of addiction treatment have been recognized through various awards, including Presidential Recognition for Contribution to the Well Being of Turkish Society.
A sought-after speaker, Dr. Cavusoglu has presented on topics such as adolescent substance abuse treatment globally, including in the United States, Turkey, and Singapore.
