Dr. Erik Vick, with a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation specializing in Artificial Intelligence, boasts a wealth of experience in software architecture, artificial characters, and game design.
Currently an Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Dr. Vick imparts knowledge in game design, gameplay programming, and artificial intelligence within the Game Design and Development program.
Aside from academia, he has held prominent roles including Executive Vice President and Studio GM at Ratatoskr Entertainment, Inc., Technical Producer and AI researcher at Electronic Arts, and Chief Technical Officer at a mobile-focused software company.
Dr. Vick has also taught Computer Science and Digital Media at the University of Central Florida, and served as the chief executive for a high-tech printing company in Orlando, FL.
A published author and industry expert, Dr. Vick authored 'Emotion Notions: Modeling Personality in Game Character AI' and actively engages in designing innovative games and exploring the fusion of semiotics, cinematography, and fiction writing with game design.
His areas of expertise include game design, software architecture, artificial intelligence implementation, narrative design, and rapid prototyping, among others.
