Erik Peterson

Erik Peterson is the Founder and CTO/CISO of CloudZero, a company focused on engineering-led cloud cost optimization.12 He has over two decades of experience in software startups and has been building in the cloud since its inception.13 Erik is known for his expertise in cost-efficient engineering, cloud economics, and excellent margins.14

As an AWS Ambassador and FinOps Certified Practitioner, Erik actively contributes to the FinOps and Serverless communities.14 He frequently shares insights on software startups, cloud economics, DevOps, and security.3

Prior to founding CloudZero in August 2016, Erik held several notable positions:

Erik's educational background includes studies in Political Science and Computer Science at Emory & Henry College and Virginia Tech.2 He holds various certifications, including AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, and FinOps Certified Practitioner.12
