Er. Datta

Er. Datta, also known as Mr. Alekhya Datta, is an accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the field of GIS, renewable energy, and smart grid technologies. He obtained his B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology and a Master’s in Geo-Informatics from Symbiosis International University. Mr. Datta commenced his career at Solar Energy Centre, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, where he played a vital role in India’s Solar Resources Assessment project in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) of the USA. Following this, he transitioned to TATA Consultancy Services Limited as an Assistant Systems Engineer focusing on GIS projects for clients such as Qwest Telecom, USA, and the R-APDRP initiative by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Subsequently, he joined TERI – The Energy and Resources Institute as a Fellow, contributing to significant projects like the Integrated Power Development Scheme and the National Solar Mission Programme in collaboration with the Government of India. Mr. Datta's expertise encompasses GIS and Remote Sensing, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Smart Grid technologies, and more. He is actively engaged in research, has presented various papers at national and international conferences, and serves as a Guest Faculty at several institutions.
