General Manager of the Sheraton Al Nabil Hotel located on the 5th Circle in Amman. The hotel opened in 2001 and features 267 rooms with conference facilities for up to 400 persons, 2 Restaurants, Central Lounge, Bar, Outdoor Terrace and Rooftop Terrace. Area responsibilities include overseeing the operation of the Meridien Hotel with 440 rooms and the development of 4 new hotels across 4 different Starwood Brands -- the St Regis Amman, the W Amman , and the Westin & Luxury Collection Resorts in the Saraya project in Aqaba all set to open in 2016.

Pre-opening General Manager of the largest resort in the Mediterranean comprising 2 hotels with a total of 700 rooms, International Golf Resort designed by Bernhard Langer, Anazoe Spa, 2000 person Conference Centre, Private Beach, 22 Food & Beverage outlets, Agora Shopping Village, Outdoor Cinema, Amphitheatre. Created a vibrant team of Executives and Associates to deliver the successful opening of a very complex project in the Peloponnese area of mainland Greece, located 4 hours from Athens.

Created the pre-opening team of Executives and associates during 2000 and 2001 to open Starwood's entry hotel into the Irish market-- the Westin Dublin. The hotel had 167 rooms, conference facilities in the listed Banking Hall a room that dates back to 1867, Atrium Lounge, 2 restaurants and the Mint Bar, located in Dublin city center. The hotel opened on Sept 1 2001 and a short few days later had to deal with the global aftermath of the Twin Towers on 9/11. 
Was GM of this hotel for 9 years and appointed as Area Manager for Ireland to manage the development of the Starwood portfolio in Ireland.  Opened the Sheraton Athlone and the Sheraton Fota Island Golf Resort & Spa hotels and conducted due diligence of many potential Starwood projects during this time.

General Manager the Westin Dublin and Area Manager Ireland Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Appointed as the GM of the famous 5 star Caledonian Hotel ( fondly referred to as The Caley ) in Edinburgh Scotland. The hotel is steeped in history being one of the premier Railway Hotels in the UK and welcomed many famous people during its history from film stars to politicians. The hotel was owned by Queen's Moat Hotels and during my time was bought by Hilton International. I assisted in the due diligence process between the 2 companies and was asked by Hilton to remain on as their GM but at the same time received an offer from Starwood to be the opening GM of their first hotel in Ireland which I accepted.

General Manager The Caledonian Hotel

Was appointed as the GM of Shangri-La's flagship resort in Malaysia located in Penang. My first appointment in Asia and a great introduction to the cultures of the Malay, Indian and Chinese people. The hotel had 514 rooms, 4 restaurants featuring Chinese, Japanese, French and Malay cuisines, Spa & Fitness Centre, Sea facing lawn area with lounge recliners for over 1000 guests serviced by 2 outdoor kitchen areas serving local  and international food, Conference facilities for 500 people, Welcoming Lobby area featuring International music artists every evening, located in the prime beachfront area of Penang.

Joined Sun International as F&B Manager at Sun City, a large Casino & Golf Resort located approx. 2 hours north of the capital city of Pretoria, South Africa. The hotel featured 340 rooms , 7 restaurants , 8 bars, the Sun City main casino and slots area, and the Gary Player Golf & Country Club. Was responsible for a team of over 700 associates in the F&B functional areas alone. 

Was appointed as Resident Manager after 18 months and responsibilities then were extended to include all the Rooms areas of Front Office, Concierge and Housekeeping departments.

After 12 months was appointed to my first GM position in a small Casino Hotel located in the Eastern Cape area of South Africa called Amatola Sun in Bisho. During this time we extended the hotel by 25 rooms. 

After 12 months I was recalled to Sun City to take over the flagship hotel at Sun City The Cascades as GM.

In 1987 appointed as the Area Manager at Thab 'Nchu responsible for the Thaba 'Nch Sun and Naledi Sun Hotels both Casino Hotels with Conference facilities. In addition the Area included the 2 hotels located in Lesotho, the Maseru Sun and Lesotho Sun Hotels. 

In 1990 was appointed as Area Manager for the newly created area called Sun Bop West and was  based in Mmabatho the capital city of Bophuthatswana. The responsibilities here included operational management oversight of the Hotel and Casino operations of 6 Casino hotels in addition to a large Conference Centre as well as Govt liaison.

Joined one of Ireland's flagship hotels as F&B Director. Responsible for the operation of all Restaurants and Bars and extensive Conference facilities where many of the capital city's social and wedding events were held. The hotel at the time was operated by THF the Trust House Forte group.

Commenced 18 month internship program at the Mayfair Hotel in Curzon Street experiencing training in all departments of the hotel.  Received full time position at the May Fair in Front Office and was promoted to Chef de Brigade. Assisted Corporate Director of F&B at Grand Met Head Office with various projects such as corporate menu planning, kitchen design, operating equipment supplies as well as negotiating of food & beverage supply deals. Was appointed as F&B Manager at the Boutique Chesterfield Hotel before being appointed as F&B Manager at the newly refurbished and reopened Mandeville Hotel.
