Nadine Bongaerts-Duportet, Ph.D.

Nadine Bongaerts-Duportet is a renowned molecular biologist, synthetic biology expert, and sustainability advocate who has dedicated her career to solving global challenges through biotechnology. With a highest honors PhD in Biot from Université Paris Descartes, and a Master's degree in Life Science & Technology from Delft University of Technology, Nadine has over ten years of experience engineering life at the smallest scale and designing cells with new functions. As a Senior Scientist of Molecular Biology at the French startup GOURMEY, Nadine is revolutionizing the poultry meat production industry, particularly when it comes to Foie Gras. Her work revolves around making meat production more sustainable, which will help curb bacterial and viral diseases, as well as climate change.

Nadine is also an active science communicator and advocate, who wants to contribute to a culture where science and society support each other. She is a board member of Hello Tomorrow, an agency that supports the communication of research to the public, and a co-founder and co-president of Science Matters, which builds bridges between science, business, and society. Nadine was formerly a Global Faculty Member for Synthetic Biology at Singularity University, a Representative of iGEM Foundation, and Vice President of Hello Tomorrow, among other roles.

In her education, Nadine completed a Minor Technology Based Entrepreneurship at Technische Universiteit Delft, and a Summer School in Regenerative Medicine at Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies.
