Firstrand, at the time of listing on the JSE as a newly consolidated entity, had the largest market capitalisation on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.  It is an international Banking and Insurance Group with interests in South Africa, Ireland, United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Australia, Mauritius and Jersey.I was employed as the Financial Accountant for RMB Asset Management and was promoted to Manager: Group Reporting for Firstrand Asset Management.  During this time, I was responsible for the full financial accounting function, involving revenue recognition, statutory returns, consolidation of group accounts, budgets, audit and Fund under Management reporting.
