Emily Threinen
Director of Bands, Associate Professor of Music
Emily Threinen is an accomplished music educator and conductor with a diverse background in music performance and education.
She holds a DMA in Conducting with a wind emphasis from the University of Michigan, an MM in Conducting with a wind emphasis from Northwestern University, and a BM in Clarinet Performance & Music Education from the University of Minnesota.
Currently, Emily Threinen serves as the Director of Bands and Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she imparts her knowledge and expertise to aspiring musicians.
Throughout her career, she has held prominent positions in various renowned institutions such as Duke University, Temple University, Shenandoah Conservatory, and Concordia University.
Emily Threinen also has experience in high school music education, having previously served as the Instrumental Music Director at Harding High School.
In addition to her academic roles, she has been actively involved in the music community, having served as a Board Member at the Conductors Guild, showcasing her commitment to furthering the field of music education and conducting.
