During my final semester of my undergraduate degree, I served as an intern for Publishers Place, a local publishing press. My duties revolved around a book of Appalachian short stories that had recently been acquired. I worked directly with the author by editing each of his stories as he sent them and by aiding in the development of the title. Over the course of my internship, I edited twenty-six short stories and drafted the layout of the book.
