Eileen Mariano, MPH

Eileen Mariano is the Manager of State and Federal Affairs in the Office of Mayor London N. Breed at the City and County of San Francisco. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing legislative and government affairs that impact the city, making recommendations on proposed state laws, and advocating for policies beneficial to San Francisco.23

Mariano holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Health Management, which she completed at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Prior to her current position, she worked at a nonprofit organization providing psychological services to children, where she focused on supporting youth who had attempted suicide. Her experiences in this role motivated her to pursue leadership skills necessary for effective management in social services.14

In addition to her professional background, Mariano has been involved in political advocacy, notably working on legislation to improve support for transition-aged youth in California, allowing them to claim state income tax credits.1 Her academic and professional journey reflects a commitment to public health and policy, particularly concerning vulnerable populations.
