Ed Hargis

Ed Hargis is a retired Chief of Police with a wealth of experience in various facets of the law enforcement field, including Patrol Operations, Emergency Management, Community Policing, Emergency Services/SWAT, Special Operations, and agency administration.

He has a strong background in ensuring public safety at both large and small-scale events, handling critical incidents, and managing crisis situations effectively. Ed also served as a Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, overseeing the Emergency Operations Plan and spearheading training and exercise programs.

In terms of education, Ed holds a Masters Degree in Administrative Sciences and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He further augmented his skills by attending prestigious programs such as the FBI National Academy 207th Sessions and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development (LEEDS) Program.

Beyond his law enforcement career, Ed has diversified his experience by serving as a Police Instructor, Volunteer Fire Fighter, Dive Team Member, and Combat Medic with the Army National Guard. His commitment to public service is evident in his extensive involvement across different roles.

Currently, Ed Hargis holds the position of Director of Business Development at Code 5 Solutions, LLC. Previously, he showcased his leadership as the Chief of Police at Frederick Police Department, Chief of Police at Portsmouth Police Department, and Chief of Police at Camden Police. Ed has also shared his knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at Portsmouth Police Department and developed his company as the owner of METRO Seminars.

His early career involved roles as a Police Dispatcher at Cherry Hill Police Department and Firefighter at Erlton Fire Company, highlighting his dedication to emergency services from various perspectives.
