With a professional background in banking spanning over 40 years, Ed has developed strong interpersonal skills that he now applies in his volunteer work. His experience caring for sick family members inspired him to engage with hospice patients after retirement, aiming to provide companionship and comfort during their final moments.1
Ed volunteers every Monday, where his responsibilities include checking the patient book for information to help him connect with patients. He visits patients who may be alone or in need of extra attention, providing emotional support through conversation or simply being present with them.1 He finds great fulfillment in listening to their life stories, viewing each patient as a unique individual with fascinating experiences to share.1
