Eben Cathey

Eben Cathey is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in political science, community engagement, and public service.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA), with a Double Major in Political Science and the Classics from Rhodes College, and furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Arts (MA) in Political and International Studies from Rhodes University.

Eben has held key roles in various esteemed organizations, including serving as a Public Information Officer in the Planning and Codes department at the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

His previous experiences include working as the Director of Community Engagement in the Office of Mayor David Briley in the same metropolitan government.

Eben Cathey also has a background in diplomacy, having served as a Vice Consul at the U.S. Department of State, showcasing his expertise in international relations.

Prior to these roles, he showcased his leadership skills as a Program Director at Upwardly Global and as a Project Manager at 270 Strategies.

In the realm of advocacy, Eben has served as an Advocacy Director at the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition, underlining his commitment to social causes.

His varied experiences also include working as a Field Consultant at the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps and as a Field Organizer at My Global Voice, illustrating his versatility and dedication to community-driven initiatives.
