Erica Gilmore

Erica Gilmore is a visionary and challenge-driven individual with extensive experience as a community champion, fundraiser, and successful professional/leader in both academic and community settings.

She is a natural and persuasive communicator known for her ability to energize and inspire colleagues towards achieving common goals, as well as for creating consensus among divergent groups.

With a passion for education, Erica has spent the last decade providing stimulating American Literature courses that empower students to think critically and become more globally aware through literature.

Her creative and resourceful approach is evident in her track record of directing and contributing to major civic programs while effectively engaging with media representatives.

Her academic background includes studying Executive Education in State and Local Government at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, obtaining a Master of Arts in English from Tennessee State University, and earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Howard University.

Erica has held various key roles in organizations, notably serving as a Metropolitan Trustee in the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davdsn Cnty, Assistant Dean of Student Services, and Assistant Dean of Student Conduct at Tennessee State University.

She has also worked as a Professor at the University of Phoenix, Councilwoman at Metro Nashville Council, Administrator and Instructor at Strayer University, and Adjunct Professor at Fisk University.
