Jonathan Talansky is a highly experienced tax attorney specializing in federal income taxation, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and investment funds. He has extensive knowledge of financial instruments, including hybrid debt instruments, equity derivatives, and investment units, and has advised on side-letter negotiation and deal execution. Talansky has worked on mergers and acquisitions involving public companies and leveraged buy-outs, and has advised on structured IPOs involving spin-off agreements and tax receivable agreements. A former member of Mintz Levin and attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, he is currently a partner at King & Spalding. Talansky studied Economics & Philosophy at Columbia University and received his JD from Harvard Law School. He has also interned with the Narcotics Division of the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
